02

Pick the wall before the hardware

Direct sunlight fades card faces irreversibly within months. A card on a sunlit wall in a UV-blocking holder will still degrade faster than the same card on a shaded wall in a plain holder — the holder reduces the exposure, it does not eliminate it.

So the decision order is: find a wall that gets no direct sun at any point in the day, then buy the hardware. If the only available wall is sunlit, display the card on a shaded shelf instead, or display a card you do not mind losing.

03

How the layers work

  1. 01A penny sleeve on the card. Stops the card scraping the holder on the way in.
  2. 02A 35pt magnetic one-touch holder. This is the actual protection: a sealed two-piece case with UV-blocking plastic and diamond-cut corners.
  3. 03A wall display mount. Positions the holder. The ONE-TOUCH Wall Display hangs from a single screw, nail or hanging strip and takes holders up to 35pt — and it also free-stands on a shelf, which is useful if you change your mind.

People often buy only the mount and hang a bare card or a plain toploader in it. That works mechanically and leaves the card unsealed and unprotected from UV, which defeats the point of a display that is meant to last.

04

The sizing catch

Wall mounts state a maximum holder thickness — 35pt for the ONE-TOUCH Wall Display. A double-sleeved card needs a 55pt holder, which will not fit a 35pt mount. If the card you want to display is double sleeved, either take it down to a single penny sleeve for display or find a mount rated for the thicker holder. Point sizing explained.

Grading slabs are a separate problem: they are substantially larger than one-touch holders and most mounts will not take them. Check the stated dimensions rather than assuming. Storing graded cards.

05

How we scored these

Not products we own; nothing hands-on. Scores apply the published rubric to manufacturer-stated specifications — mounting method, stated holder compatibility, material, UV claims — from the listings cited below. Capacity scores are near-zero by category: these hold one card.

How we score. Five things we can judge from published specifications: stated card capacity, what the construction protects against, how well it keeps a collection organized, build durability, and cost against what it does. Our scores against our rubric, published so you can weigh it differently.

For a child's room, specifically

A child who wants their favorite card on the wall is not preserving an asset. A one-touch holder in a single-fixing mount is about the cheapest way to do it properly, it takes two minutes with a hanging strip, and there is no reason to overthink it beyond the wall choice.

What we would not do is display a genuinely valuable card in a child's room. Walls get knocked, rooms get rearranged, and the card that matters is better off in a drawer. Display the one they love; store the one that is worth something.

07

Questions people actually ask

How do I hang a Pokemon card on the wall?
Put it in a 35pt one-touch magnetic holder, then into a wall display mount. The ONE-TOUCH Wall Display hangs from a single screw, nail or hanging strip and also free-stands on a shelf.
Will a card fade on the wall?
If direct sunlight reaches it, yes, and permanently. A UV-blocking holder reduces exposure but does not eliminate it. Choose a wall that gets no direct sun at any point in the day.
Can I hang a graded card on the wall?
Most mounts are sized for one-touch holders, which are smaller than grading slabs. Check the mount's stated dimensions before buying. More on graded cards.
Do I need a holder as well as the mount?
Yes. The mount only positions the card; the one-touch holder is what seals it and blocks UV. A bare card in a mount is an unprotected card on a wall.
