About Pull & Binder

An independent site about buying Pokemon cards well, written for people outside the hobby. Here is who writes it and what we do and do not claim.

02

Why this site exists

Buying Pokemon cards for the first time is harder than it should be. The products are named as though you already know what they are, the price range runs from five dollars to over a hundred and fifty with no explanation of the difference, and almost everything written about the hobby is written for people already inside it.

That leaves a specific person badly served: a parent or a first-time collector who has been asked for Pokemon cards, wants to buy well, and has no intention of learning the hobby in order to do it. Every page on this site is written for that person. If you want deck tech, tournament meta analysis or price speculation, there are better sites and we are not trying to be them.

03

Who writes this

Brijon M. is the owner of MadGrey LLC and writes everything here. The byline on every page is a real person, not a brand voice or a rotating staff of freelancers, and the opinions on this site are his.

What that does not mean: he is not a professional card grader, a tournament player, or a shop owner, and we are not going to imply otherwise. The site competes on being clear and honest about what we know rather than on credentials we do not have — see our methodology for exactly how the recommendations are made.

04

What we claim, and what we do not

We doWe do not
Read manufacturer-stated contents and specificationsOpen boxes, test products, or run a lab
Cross-check facts against retailer listings and cite themClaim hands-on experience with anything we recommend
Publish our scoring rubric so you can disagree with itPresent scores as measurements
Say when a product is not worth buyingPrint prices we cannot verify
Name real, currently-sold productsInvent products, ratings or review counts
Link to the sources behind every checkable claimAccept payment for placement

That first row is the important one and it is unusual to state plainly. We do not own these products. Our recommendations come from published specifications, manufacturer-stated contents and retailer listings, applied against a rubric we publish. Where a judgment is subjective — how a sleeve shuffles, for example — we say whose judgment it is and link to the source.

05

There are no reviews on this site

You will not find customer testimonials, star ratings from readers, or quotes from satisfied visitors anywhere on Pull & Binder. That is because we have none to publish, and inventing them is the single fastest way to destroy a site's credibility and expose a business to real legal risk.

If that section appears here in future, every quote in it will be a real, attributed one with a source you can check. An empty space is better than a fabricated one.

06

How the site is funded

Affiliate links. When you buy something after clicking a link here, Amazon pays us a small percentage at no extra cost to you. There is no paid placement, no sponsorship, and no manufacturer sees a page before it publishes.

Where a product is not worth buying we say so, including products we would earn on — a booster box is the best value per pack of anything Pokemon sells and we recommend against it as a first purchase on most of the pages where it appears. The full disclosure explains the mechanics.

07

What is here

  • 87 pages across six sections, from what sealed product to buy to how to keep a collection from getting damaged.
  • 43 real products, every one currently sold and verified against a live retailer source at the time of writing.
  • No prices anywhere. Price and availability live on Amazon, where they are actually accurate. Why.
  • Cited sources on every page that states a checkable fact — pack counts, release dates, grading requirements.

08

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Product contents change, sets release, and grading companies update their requirements — a site like this goes out of date by default rather than by neglect, and a reader pointing at a specific error is the fastest way it gets corrected.

Email contact@pullandbinder.com or use the contact form. We read everything.

09

Who publishes this

Pokemon and Pokemon character names are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc. Pull & Binder is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.

Questions people actually ask

Who writes Pull & Binder?
Brijon M., the owner of MadGrey LLC. Every page carries his byline. He is not a professional grader, tournament player or shop owner, and we do not imply otherwise.
Do you test the products you recommend?
No, and we do not claim to. Recommendations come from manufacturer-stated contents and specifications, cross-checked against retailer listings and cited on each page, applied against a rubric we publish. Our methodology.
How does Pull & Binder make money?
Amazon affiliate links. When you buy after clicking one, Amazon pays us a small percentage at no extra cost to you. No paid placement and no sponsorships. Full disclosure.
Why are there no customer reviews on the site?
Because we have none to publish, and inventing them would destroy the site's credibility. If testimonials ever appear here, every one will be real and attributed with a checkable source.
How do I report a mistake?
Email contact@pullandbinder.com or use the contact form. Product contents and grading requirements change, so corrections from readers are genuinely the fastest way this site stays accurate.
